| What
is Reverse Cycle Split Airconditioning? And how does it work?
The Reverse Cycle Split system works
in exactly the same way as the Ducted Reverse Cycle system. The
only difference is that with the split system, there are no componentry
or ducting in the roof-space. Instead, the fan coil unit is enclosed
in a neat wall unit which is fixed to internal walls in different
rooms of the house. Similar to the ducted system, a condenser must
also be installed on the outside of the building. This is what a
split system internal unit looks like:

There are two main categories of split system:
1. Multi Head Split
Several internal units are fixed to walls in different rooms within
a single building. All the units are joined to one condenser unit
on the outside of the building.
2. Single Head Split
This
is the most basic split system, and includes one inside unit on one
wall within the building and connected to a single condenser unit.
